2015 Scorecard Rated Restaurant Chains on Meat and Antibiotics

In September 2015 Keep Antibiotics Working and our allies released a major report and scorecard that graded America’s top restaurant chains on their policies and practices regarding antibiotics use and transparency in their meat and poultry supply chains. All but five companies received a failing grade.

Friends of the Earth, Natural Resources Defense Council, Consumers Union, Food Animal Concerns Trust, Keep Antibiotics Working, and Center for Food Safety all contributed to research and writing for this report.

The report comes amid mounting pressure on restaurant chains, with a September 15 2015 letter sent from 109 organizations to the CEOs of the top 25 restaurant chains urging companies to eliminate the routine use of antibiotics in their meat supply--as well as numerous campaigns targeting Subway.
